World Wide Conferencing Network

WWCN is a system that provides multimedia conferencing services on a world-wide scale. It has been optimized for realtime data delivery: music, voice, video, pictures, text, software updates, and so on. To cope with today's bandwidth scarcity, it implements a reliable "multicasting" technology (one to many data communication) over standard TCP (internet) connections.

Server Software

Currently there is one software package available to setup a WWCN network: the datasphere package. It consists of all types of servers necessary to build a network: a conferencing server ('cnd'), a channel directory server ('cdsd'), and a user directory server ('udsd'). Additionally, the package provides a simple WWCN client ('tap') and a library for writing client software.

Please see the howto section for more information on how to build a network using this package.
